The Jersey Care Commission standards are statements which set clear expectations about how care services should be provided.
A service is a child contact centre service if it provides premises to facilitate contact between a child and either a parent, a relative or a friend.
This does not include services provided by a social work service for children and young people.
Standards for children and young people’s contact centre service have been written to:
- Promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
- Show what children young people and their families should expect from the service they receive
- Set out a series of quality statements about what good outcomes look like for children young people and their families
- Set out what providers of contact centre service must do to meet the expectations of people who use the service and requirements under the Law
- Provide a structure that can be used to inspect the service provided
The service has a clear statement of purpose and set of policies which are accessible to everyone.
The service is well managed, and the organisation effectively led.
Staff are safely recruited and fully supported in their roles
The building from which the service operates is welcoming, safe and legally compliant.
The service has a clear operating model and delivers services effectively.
Children and young people are safeguarded from neglect, abuse or harm. They are, and feel, safe whilst at the Child Contact Centre
