The Jersey Care Commission standards are statements which set clear expectations about how care services should be provided.
A service is a social work service if it is delivered either by a social worker or by another person under the direction or supervision of a social worker. Such services might include, the providing of assessments (to determine either social care needs and/or financial support needs; making arrangements to safeguard a child or young person who may be at risk of harm; making arrangements for health care assessments to be undertaken as part of a social work service; providing any other form of assessment or services for children or young people.

Staff are safely recruited and fully supported in their roles.
Data protection requirements are thoroughly adhered to.
Comprehensive records are maintained.
Assessments are thorough, outcome-focussed, and evidence-based.
Child Protection Enquiries are effective in informing decision-making.
Child Protection Plans are effective in protecting children and young people from harm.
Placements meet children and young people’s needs and prepare them for the future.
Care Leavers are thoroughly prepared for leaving care.
